A number of students were detained and wounded during a demonstration in El Obeid in North Kordofan, that was violently ended by security agents on Thursday morning. Two students were stabbed during a fight at the university in White Nile.andnbsp;
A student from the University of Kordofan in the state capital told Radio Dabanga that they were demonstrating against the water pollution in Khor Taggat, that has reportedly affected more than 50 students with severe diarrhoea, on Thursday.andnbsp;
“Residents joined the our protest in the streets of El Obeid, demanding clean water. Members of the National Intelligence and Security Service dispersed the mass,” he said. “They used tear gas and batons against us.”
He said that seven students were detained and 15 others sustained injuries.

A fight between students who support the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) and other students resulted in the injury of two at the University of Bakhit El Rhida in White Nile on Thursday.
A student told this station that the NCP students, backed by security agents, attacked students in a discussion corner at the university in Ed Duwaim. Two students were stabbed on the head and in the ribs. They have been taken to Ed Duwaim Hospital for treatment.
