The governor of South Darfur state dismissed all National Congress Party officials on Sunday.
Governor Maj. Gen. Adam Mahmoud Jarelnabi on Sunday issued an order of dismissal for all South Darfur state ministers, advisors, commissioners, ######### of government offices, secretaries, and technical experts, belonging to the ruling National Congress Party (NCP).
The governor, in his function as head of NCP’s South Darfur branch, also removed the trustees of the NCP secretariats and ######### of the NCP sectors from their functions in South Darfur. He commissioned the general managers of the ministries, and general secretaries of commissions to take over the state’s administration.
Ibrahimandnbsp;Ghandour, Presidentialandnbsp;Assistant andandnbsp;Deputy-President ofandnbsp;the NCP, in his address to an NCP general convention in Nyala, capital of South Darfur state, last week, had called on party leaders not to select their representatives on tribal bases. He denounced the functioning of the NCP in the state, claiming that “the loyalty of its membership is based on tribal affiliations”.
Governor Jarelnabi failed to win the party’s nomination for governor for the upcoming 2015 elections. andnbsp;He was defeated by Eisaandnbsp;Adamandnbsp;Abakar, South Darfur state’s Minister ofandnbsp;Urban Planning, who scored 139 votes,andnbsp;while Jarelnabiandnbsp;cameandnbsp;second withandnbsp;68andnbsp;votes.
