Khartoum, March 2 (SUNA) - The Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Mohamed Zayid Awad has underlined existence of natural gas explorations and feasibility studies on its exploitation prepared by his ministry.
This came when he met, at his office Wednesday, with the delegation of Pan-China Journalist Union, revealing existence of two types of gas in Sudan; dry and oil production-associated gas, asserting existence of tremendous oil reserve.
The minister renewed call for all companies operating in gas field to invest in gas industry in Sudan.
Dr. Awad lauded China role in petroleum extraction in Sudan, referring to the role of Chinese companies including China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in introducing a model for technical cooperation and expertise exchange, presenting historical briefing on the agreements signed with the Chinese companies in a number of oil blocks. He added that the cooperation with China has been continuing despite the big challenges facing the oil sector, stressing that his ministry is working with the partners to overcome these challenges including international price drop.
Meanwhile, the Head of Pan-China Journalist Union expressed their pleasure for visiting Sudan, pointing out that the objective of their visit is to cooperate with the Sudanese Journalist Union, to get informed on the commercial exchange between the two countries and to have a knowledge on the expected projects and partnerships in the oil sector between Sudan China.
The Chairman of the Sudanese Journalist Union Al-Sadiq Al-Rezaigi pointed out to the importance of meeting in acquainting the delegation with the Chinese investments in Sudan, explaining that the visit came within the Chinese President's Initiative "Economic Belt of the Silk Road", praising cooperation between the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the Sudanese Journalist Union.
