Khartoum, March 1 (SUNA) - The First Vice - President of the Republic, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, has appreciated the efforts being exerted by Germany in supporting the development and peace projects in Sudan.
This came when he received Tuesday at the Republican Palace the visiting German delegation, which is headed by the State Minister at the German Minister of International Cooperation.
The First Vice - President said that Sudan is bestowed with vast resources and needs partners to invest these resources.
He said that the stability enjoyed by Sudan has made it attractive to the refugees from the neighbouring countries, a matter which necessitates international support in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Minister of International Cooperation, Kamal Hassan Ali, announced that an agreement of German aid of 51 million euros for refugees, migration and capacity building will be signed on Thursday.
He said that the Sudanese and German sides have held a session of talks which tackled the German aid and issues of migration and refugees.
He appreciated the remarkable enhancement in the Sudanese - German relations which culminated in the hosting of Germany to unofficial negotiations between the government and the People's Movement.
The German State Minister for International Cooperation said that their visit aims for supporting the German - Sudanese cooperation, the peace process and the national dialogue in Sudan and the rehabilitation process in Darfur.
He indicated that an agreement was reached to intensify the cooperation and joint work in Kassala State in the refugees' field.
He said that Germany is ready to work within the international community for cooperating with Sudan and supporting it in the fields of refugees and immigration.
