The acting charge affairs commends the government of Sudan

Khartoum, 17 July (SUNA)- The Undersecretary General of the Ministry for Foreign D'Affairs, ambassador Abdul Ghani Al Nayeem Awad al Karim, has received at his office the acting Charge D'Affairs of the Turkish embassy in Khartoum Mohammed Urbakan, and reviewed with him the latest development and the failed coup attempt and the bilateral relations between the Sudan and Turkey.

The undersecretary has congratulated in the name of the president of the Republic and the government and the people of the Sudan, to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and to the sisterly people of Turkey for the restoration of legitimacy and democracy and for uprooting the failed attempt that sought to undermine stability and security in Turkey.

The Undersecretary underlined the unlimited support of the Sudanese leadership and government for the government and the people of Turkey, and that the Sudan is ready to provide all support and backing for the democracy and for the legitimacy in Turkey which were protected by the people of Turkey in a unique act that rejects the failed military coup and that this was to underline that Islam supports legitimacy and democracy and defend them.

He said Sudan's support was based on the full conviction for defending legitimacy and democracy and for the strong ties linking two countries. He pinpointed to the phone call made by the President of the Republic Omar Bashir to President Urdugan of Turkey and to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the wide popular in the Sudanese streets and of the political forces rejecting this failed coup d'état.

The Turkish charge affairs has thanked the Sudanese government and people for supporting his country, saying that his country has found support from a number of people and states.

However he said the support he received from the Sudan was well in advance and strong expressing in a clear cut manner the depth of the bonds that link the two countries and two peoples.
