A Sudanese student who joined the combatants of the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq was reportedly killed last week.
The official Sudanese News agency (Suna) reported on Friday that Rowan Kamal Zeinelabdin (22) was killed in an air raid on IS troops leaving Falluja last week.
Zeinelabdin was a third-year dentistry student at a university in Khartoum, when she decided to join IS last year.
Dozens of young Sudanese joined the ranks of IS in Iraq, Syria, and Libya last year. Inandnbsp;October, the Ministry of Interior Affairs reported that at least 70 Sudanese joined IS that year reached 70. Two of them returned home.
Groups of Sudanese medical students secretly left the country in last year inandnbsp;March,andnbsp;June,andnbsp;August, andandnbsp;September. The group in June included the daughter of the spokesman for the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali El Sadig.
At least 35 Sudanese who joined the ranks of IS were killed in Iraq and Syria, more than 25 in Libya. Allegedly, Zeinelabdin is the first Sudanese woman student who died for the IS cause.
