Khartoum, 11 July (SUNA) - The President of the Republic, Omar Bashir, on Monday commended the Sudanese Moroccan relations which he described as historic and deeply rooted.
The President on Monday received the Special Envoy of the Moroccan Monarch, Mohamed VI, Salah Eddin Mizwar.
The Envoy has pointed out in statements following the meeting that he convyed a verbal message from His Majesty King Mohamed VI to President Bashir dealing with the bilateral relations and ways of boosting them further.
The Envoy said the meeting has stressed the need to coordinate in regional and international issues of mutual interest and on issues witnessed by the region, referring to the leading role of President Bashir in the region.
The Envoy said the meeting also stressed the need to work for upgrading bilateral relations in face of challenges and threats facing the two nations.
The Moroccan Envoy said his government backs the Sudan against the so called International Criminal Court and that the position of his country was unchangeable.
He said the Moroccan King has also invited President Omar Bashir to visit Morocco.
The State Minister at the Ministry for Foreign Relations, Dr Obaidallah Mohamed Obaidalla has meanwhile commended the relations between the two countries and said the Sudanese Moroccan Ministerial Committee will convene shortly; the Sudanese side will be led by First Vice President of the Republic while the Moroccan side will be headed by the Moroccan Prime Minister.
