Medani, Feb. 25 (SUNA) - The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock in Gezira State Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Ahmed has received the Malaysian Ambassador to Sudan Mustafa Haj Mansur and the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development Dr. Ahmad Giuliani in the framework of their visit to learn about the agricultural possibilities and projects in the state. The delegation visited Gezira Scheme and met with its Governor Engineer Osman Semsaah, who briefed the guests on the components of the scheme as it is largest agricultural project in Africa under a single management, reviewing its history as well as the beginning of spaces and sources of irrigation systems and crop rotation, pointing to the national status of the scheme and participation of the state in the preparation of the farmers and their relationships to production. Dr. Suleiman emphasized the eternal relations with the State of Malaysia, reviewing the agricultural potentials including arable lands and water supply, besides the roads, research institutions, investment opportunities and facilities provided by the state to investors For his part, the Ambassador of Malaysia praised warmly receiving, stressing their support to develop agriculture and to promote the agricultural industrialization, training and capacity building in various livestock areas. The delegation visited the product-housing project and was briefed on the report of the project management on the idea, objectives and its infrastructure, in addition to the relationships between farmers and the management of product- housing project as well as the crop rotation and the agricultural and animal products in the project.
