Sudan becomes a global disposal-area for chemical waste by Adaroub Sedna Onour
|
03:44 PM April, 13 2016 Sudanese Online Adaroub Sedna Onour- My Library Short URL Countless rumors alleging Sudan of being the least compliant country of binding international laws and conventions gained credit recently, when the director of the sea ports corporation disclosed that key members from the federal government of Sudan were directly and knowingly implicated in importing deadly chemical waste into the country, which is a glaring evidence of there having had being similar fatal shipments previously ,which were probably buried in the country (health authorities frequently talk of alien symptoms of diseases unknown in Sudan before؟). The director’s rare and odd- out revelation triggered a country –wide outcry that the ruling tyranny’s prominent figures engaged in a blame game, for having been taken by total surprise before summoning the director of the SPC to Khartoum, where he was made to soften his earlier statement by saying that: it was not in his capacity to assess the level of danger posed by the deadly import, but insisted it was –nonetheless- dangerous؟؟؟؟؟At any rate, the regime which used to defy its opponents by stipulating they should produce material evidence to back their allegations, is now caught red –handed ,because locating the lethal cargo needs now no radar or tracking collar ,as it is stacked in the open exposed to erosion and rain in saloom land-terminal just south of port Sudan in close proximity to sickly-populated inhabited areas ؟ But the mind-boggling question is the lenient and tolerant stance of the international community which is already sufficiently aware of Sudan’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism, drug- trafficking, money laundry and human –trafficking؟ Of course no body expects the outlaw regime to take any substantial steps to mitigate the horrifying impact of the biggest environmental crime ever committed in Sudan; likewise, no legal measures are expected to be taken to bring to book those implicated in this grand crime, judging by the above-the- law status and impunity enjoyed by the top-dogs of the anti-people fascist tyranny. having said that, environmentalists and activists allover the world have a job at hand ,at least by casting flood -light on this crime before the regime –as expected- buries the deadly waste . because, as a rule, a country which is openly hosting sleeper-cells of radical movements of every description and throwing explosive barrels at its own people, should not be entrusted to dispose of the deadly material soundly and according to adequate international norms and lawful procedures, rather it should be subjected to close observation and surveillance by reliable global institutions to ensure its adherence to observed relevant regulations in this sphere. I wonder though, what level of criminality the outlaw regime should reach, before the international community rolls the red card to its face؟؟؟ Adaroub sedna onour.
