SLOPES DOWN THE BUMPY ROAD TO STABILITY AND RECONCILIATION IN SUDAN

Many factors, combined, holdup peaceful change in Sudan and will potentially continue to hamper any genuine effort in that direction, if due concern is not given to their under-lying undermining role. The biggest factor of all being the so-called historical sectarian political parties of post-independence Sudan which failed since 1956 to bring about a people-first democratic political system because democracy is only a bogous slogan which,in reality ,does not exist within those parties which are presided over by religious men for life {sacred cows} I,personally, contrary to the common perception, believe that those parties were the first to sow the seeds of disintegration in sudan because their masses were voting on sectarian lines. And when in power they persuaded discriminative and exclusive policies which provoked irritation that lured the army to capitalise on the discontent and irritation of the people and overthrow those namely democratic regimes on three occasions {1958-64/1969-85/1989-2014} two of the three military coups were removed by popular uprisings 1964/1985 and power handed over on a silver tray to the sectarian parties, but now the people of sudan grew weary of the chronic failure of those parties and have no appetite to make sacrifices again , so they became passive and reluctant in resisting the third coup which is still ruling since 1989. Thus the sectarian parties were left no choice but to launch a few foreign-backed clashes and skirmishes in the prephiries of Sudan which strenghtened and emboldened the regime instead of toppling it; hence they decided to go into alliance with the tyranny, which they accomblished.so far. Remarkably the regime which has passed numerous stress tests put to it by the sectarian parties is not going to make any concessions except for those up in arms. Another rediculous factor is the insistence of the sectarian dinosaurs who got us where we are now, not only their dying to be part of any future political setting, but to dictate the magnitude and shape of future sudan , which they groundlessly assume should be tailored to their specifications?????????The last factor is the now not –under- command- tyranny which is teetering between political insanity and banktrupcy. Which necessiated the comeback of the regime,s architect{Dr turabi} with all his presidetial ambitions and global leadership aspirations which were aborted by the realistic politicians among his own party NIF/NCP . Basically what the ruling tyranny and the sectarian parties have in common is their well-founded fear of the future, lack of friends and allies, lack of reliable popular support-bases,lack of vision…And the looming total chaos the blame for which will squarely be put on their shoulders? Actually all political parties in Sudan now agree that some degree of change is vital for the territorial integrity, peaceful cohabitation and soveriegnty of what remained of Sudan …. But they shy away from the key As begging Qs such as.. a} what about the stolen public-money and the private interprises the tyranny confiscated and dealt with as war booty?b}what about those who were sacked from their public posts, those killed for holding anti-regime political views …and those who disappeared without trace to this day? C} is the regime serious in taking to law those behind the on-going tragedy of Darfur or is still insisting on its unable/unwilling micky mouse kangaroo courts??? Today the ruling tyranny and the custodians of post-independence political establishment of Sudan have joined forces and are behind the deafening shallow debate making the headlines in the local media calling for dialouge in an attempt to hyjack any settlement and harvest the outcome of any political deal to their ends and interests and restore their crumbled political influence . But of course nobody in Sudan wants Mr Sadiq almahdi, who is the founder of the tribal malitias in Sudan and or his nephew Dr turabi, who when he seized power in 1989 dissolved all barriers and became the state?? And needless to say… all those implicated in gross irregularities, crimes, violations and/or wanted by the ICC..
