The arrest of leaders of the Darfur Doctors Association

Ibraheem Kowa- Khartoum, 23 March 2016 On 22nd March 2016, the Sudanese National Security forces have arrested some leading members of the Darfur Doctors Association in Khartoum. This has come after one day after the end of the activities of the founding meeting of the Association. Amongst those whom were detained; Dr. Alnour Muhammed Yagoub, the head of the Financial office; Mr. Adam Mohamed Jibriel, the media secretary and also Dr. Ashraf Izzeldin Elamin, head of the office of external coordination. Families of the detainees have stated that their sons were taken to an unknown destination since yesterday by members of the National Security forces. They call on all human rights organizations working in the field to help address the official authorities to speed up the release of the detainees.
