Khartoum’s threat to enter our territory is a declaration of war: South Sudan says
|
December 20, 2014-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline -South Sudan's army spokesman, Philip Aguer, described Sudanese Government warns that it may enter South Sudanese territory to pursue the rebels as a” declaration of war” Aguer told reporters on Friday that Khartoum’s government has long sought to declare war against his country, adding "now Khartoum has announced war against South Sudan and we are dealing with statements by government officials seriously and we are ready to fight against them." He denied any presence of Sudanese rebel movements on South Sudan’s territory, saying that such accusations are an attempt to justify a declaration of war against a sovereign State, pointing out that the world is aware of Khartoum’s supporting the former Vice President Riek Machar "we have documented information confirming that Machar troops moved from different locations in the Sudan to South Sudan” he added The director of Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS), Mohamed Atta, said last week that they have endured the support of South Sudan to Sudanese rebels for a long-time and threatened to pursue them “anywhere”. Atta warned South Sudan of the consequences of harboring Sudanese rebels, saying “the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF will pursue rebels everywhere”. Sudan and South Sudan trade accusations of support to rebel groups from both sides although Khartoum and Juba signed agreements which state that each side must refrain from supporting rebels from the other country.
