Government describes Ugandan accusations against Sudan as attempt to throw dust in the eyes
|
Khartoum-The Sudanese government has ridiculed Ugandan accusations that Sudan supports and shelters the Lord Resistance Army, and considered it as attempt to throw dust in the eyes. The government called on Uganda to stop intervention in Sudan’s domestic affairs, and to commit to its previous pledges in this regard so as not to be crisis maker in the area. The government said that Kampala itself realizes that these allegations are not true and knows that the Lord Army has become a pretext Uganda uses for internal and external purposes. Khartoum has renewed the accusation to Uganda and said that Uganda still harbors leaders of the Sudanese rebel groups such as the Justice and Equality Movement and the Sudan Liberation Movement. The foreign ministry said that Sudan has made a complaint against Uganda to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during a summit in Cairo at earlier time. The ministry said that Khartoum provided a fact finding committee, during a visit to the two countries last week, with the documents that confirm the involvement of the government of President Museveni.
