Khartoum, 31 May (SUNA) - The World Bank has promised to complete its technical consultation with the Sudan with view to better the country's economic performance.
Minister for Finance and Economic planning, Badr Eddin Mahmoud, has reviewed in his meeting with the World Bank delegation headed by Mr. Eric Moutou and in the presence of Dr Abdul Rahaman Mohamed Hassan Governor the Central Bank and Mr. Mustafa Holi, the First Undersecretary at the Ministry as well as MS Muna Abu haraz the Undersecretary at the Ministry, the efforts exerted for economic reform in the country and the challenges confronted by the national economy.
The two sides exchanged views within the context of the bilateral cooperation between the Sudan and the Bank within article four on consultation that target assessment of the Sudanese economic performance during the fiscal 2015 and the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
The two sides review the current situation and the indexes for bettering the performance of the economy during the coming period and means for overcoming the current standing challenges and the expected ones.
The World Bank official has promised to the technical consultation with the Sudanese side and to submit a memo on the evaluating the performance of the Sudanese economy on this issue, to the World Bank top management.
On a related development, the Executive Director of the African Group within the World Bank has promised to support the position of the Sudan so that it could receive its use right via the World Bank.
The Executive Director of the Group in a meeting with the Minister for Finance reviewed the areas of cooperation with the fund and the minister briefed them on the economic reform programme implemented by the Sudan top of which the five year economic reform programme.
The two sides also discussed areas and mechanism of coordination in the areas of macro policies in a way that would achieve the objectives of the economic reform. ma/ma Topics related to the subject or the author
