An Invitation to a Question, A start of Another.

Is it possible to have a Sudan that’s not a nation? I mean, can we, the so-called Sudanese, live under some sort of a united entity that’s is NOT based upon an (imagined/desired/or even true) sense of nationhood? I’m asking this question both to myself and you for two reasons:
First because I’m starting to question myself about this notion I have aobut myself as being a Sudanese. Is this notion (strong and compelling as it might be) indeed, truly and utterly, a given reality that’s not open to our thinking of ourselves as individuals? And of course, I’m asking also whether this national sense of being a Sudanese people really and truly exists. Is this the unquestionable reality of ourselves and country? (I will tell you more about that if you care to ask me!).
And secondly: because I’m thinking about peace… I’m thinking about the dead and about the wasted souls of the young, the brained-washed and those who (I sometime think) were washed in fizzy Coca-Cola but believe they were baptised with Holly Water of AL-Wattan.
I think we can question all these illusions and come with a newer and more creative description (or even a reinvented one) of Who we want to be (rather than who we think we are!).
(I will also tell you more about this one if you will give me a chance and consider this thought)
but peace, for now!
