It took Sudan’s fascist tyranny three years to make up its mind and come up with the long-awaited outcomes of its self-initiated (internal national dialogue )which many well-informed observers and Sudan-watchers evaluated as being below bar ,as the war-torn country is still engulfed by political crises and instability since as back as 1989 when the currently ruling regime toppled a democratically-elected government and seized power in a flash bloodless coup . Ever since opposition groups, with huge international support, tried to force the oligarchic, dictatorial and corrupt regime to adopt some degree of reform, but so far to no avail. Worse yet, the regime ,so recently, installed its vice president in the position of PRIME MINISTER of the-yet-to-be- formed broad-based national consensus transitional government, under the presidency of the tyrant omer beshir himself؟ Which is a sign that the regime may yet again back away -at any time-from any of the minor change measures outlined in the outcomes of its so-called meaningless internal national dialogue. The coming weeks may prove just as disappointing, as the regime backers and loyalists, implicated in grave criminal acts are now urging their political opponents to come back to earth and accept the in-house-made outcomes of their dialogue and pass by the crimes and grievances of the past and let by-gone be by-gone؟ Because, according to them, the dialogue forms the panacea FOR ALL the crises of Sudan ؟ In the meantime, they are overly busy tailoring and amending laws specifically the electoral rules, understandably ,to enable their party win any elections on every level country-wide. In other words, the regime is still holding its ground and sticking to its exclusive attitude and is very keen to consolidate its grip on wealth and power for as long time as possible. And that ,in simple analysis , is an indicator of a great battle ,yet to be fought , not only between the regime and the non-signatory groups to the many futile peace agreements but, between the regime and the-party-within-a-party and their allies( the break-away ex-members of the regime )which is an alliance that sprang into existence in the aftermath of the big leadership confrontation in 1999, which the founder/god-father of the Sudanese Islamic movement ,the late Dr. Hassan turabi ,lost to the sitting ruler Gen, beshir. It is worth of note that the vast majority of the Sudanese Islamic movement have now come to their senses and realized that their harsh and indescribably ridiculous laws they once imposed has nothing in common with Islam and totally non-Islamic؟ While the ruling cabal -made up of the security, hypocrite profiteers and the pro-regime irregular tribal militant groups, don’t have the slightest intention of relinquishing power, because they are involved in grand excesses countless irregularities and mass-killings . And that is, perhaps, why they are now pinning hopes on the partial lifting of the sanctions, Hoping they may, some how, be granted impunity from their horrible acts, and seem gearing for a simple wings clipping if not total dropping of any charges…, in return for their willingness to play spy for America in the region. But unfortunately this is wishful thinking and day-dreaming, because America is a democratic country ruled by law and institutions and home to influential lobbying bodies ,strong civil society and human rights organizations which know the Sudanese rulers to be unreliable confirmed liars who have no regard for human life, despite their so recent specious shilly-shallying about dialogue ,democracy and peace. Indeed the non-state institutions and NGOs there have made it very clear that there will be no let-up or hesitation to bring the Sudanese criminals to book. Come on, you can’t kill thousands of defenseless civilians ,devastate and demolish a whole country and then ,without blinking, try to fool the world by saying that the very perpetrators are the only persons capable of restructuring and rebuilding the country؟ In fact if the regime is serious in cleaning up it mess ,it should nominate a suitable clean-up crew ,demobilize the irregular tribal militant groups ,reconcile with the thousands of its victims who did not have role or say in its dialogue ,otherwise its self-condemning exclusive dialogue will find no buyers ,because it does not make sense to any person who has brain in his skull.
