Dear Brother Muhyadin Abkar If there were a three of you and Baheiri, this country would have been united and strong. When detractors of Dr. John Garnag used to misrepresent his ideas of new Sudan, he used to say how 'could I call for a united Sudan and and want to eliminate one of its major cultural components:Arabism and Islam'. If we were to read history the way you read it, our problems would have been things of the past. Difference between you and Abdalla Ageed is sharpe. Abdalla wants the history of Sudan to purley begin with "Arab-Islamic Sudan", and you are correctly telling him Sudan did not start with the Islamic kingdoms, but with a propsperous culture ever built by mankind on the Nile Vally. For Islamists and their supporters that civilization, which is deeper and lasted longer than Islam, is no history. Only Islam matters. What you explained to us is the real history of Sudan and this what I would like to be taught, including Islam, to our children. I would like my children to know that before Islam, before Sennar, before Mohammed Ali Pasha , before al-Mahdi, before Kitchner, there was a civilization of thousands of years. What is wrong in teaching that to your child, a Muslim, as well as to my child, a Christian or an animist?
