The issues of what authentic what is not are too complicated and open to disputes.
Moslems believe that the Quran is in the original form it was revealed and at the same time Christians and Jews believe the same regarding their holy books.
We can move beyond this disagreement if we accept the principle that changes were not in the text but the interpretations, and this applies to all books. For my fellow Moslems I will say that the Quran was not specific in the definition of the change. The verses do not tell us whether the change was literal or in the interpretation. Yes I know this will open another can of worms but my believe that we Moslems can not claim to believe in the other books but at the same time claim that they are doctored or modified as the originals were never revealed to us and as such we can not argue the fallacy of what Christians or Jews believe in if we do not have the original to compare with.
