ok at the beginning I did not care to put my profile ..but I put my basic info. thanks for telling me but I am a female .. and do not you think I tried to get the money ...but I was a fool not to take it upfront as a di with the regular custmers since he is staying at our office and knows when the tickets has to be paid to the airlines throught the ARC (Airline Reproting corporation)and if there was anyway I could have solve it without that I would have but unfortunately I do not have this money to pay it and then wait to get it back ..so it is not a joke

لا أعلم ما هي رواية الطرف الآخر.. لكنه شئ مؤسف .. ومخجل
حتى ولو تم دفع الفواتير متأخر..
Now, I don't want to sound like I'm blaming the victim, which is you and your company
but it's not good business practice, or wise, to deliver goods before receiving the payment in full
the way i see it, til hearing otherwise, is that it was 'the sudanese way' of paying whenever
and the same 'sudanese way' of doing business relying on trust, honor, etc.
sorry if I sounded too harsh, but it's a lesson to all

no Ahmed taht is me Suzy Elgarray from Zamzam Travel ...first Fathi has nothing to dio with that I am the only one at the office and managing it ( which I think u know already ) and you alao know that many things were done through our office since Dr. Mutwakel is staying at the office ...so it is natural that most of the commuications were done through the iffice but not Fathi ..and if you said you know us ..then definitely I am not crazy or trying to fabricate that ..but if you are in my shoes i wonder what will you do ..you tell me ..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Ahmed,
Thank you for inquiry. Dr. Mutwakil Mahmoud and all the artists and myself represent a cultural
nonprofit organization, ISAMI- International Sudanese Arts & Music institute, devoted to the
promotion, preservation and development of SUDANESE MUSIC, ITS ARTIST’S & CULTURAL
ARTS throughout the world.
The City of Chicago is the city of Chicago and they call their special cultural programs such as
this "Music with out Borders". You know because of the American Sanctions against Sudan that
neither the city of Chicago nor my company Dawn Elder Management or Dr. Mutwakil as a legal
American Citizen, or the participating musicians/artists are legally aloud to receive any financial
compensation or any other support from the Sudanese Government and its embassy’s in
America. In addition this event is held in collaboration with the US Lost Boys of Sudan in the city
of Chicago, with some other Darfurians. The honorary guest is Manute Bol.
Dawn Elder Management is my company, and I have devoted the last 20 years of my life to
composing and producing music as a bridge to cultural understanding between people through
music, which has been known as the International Friendship Festival - and the “Peace through
music" Series. And the "We are the Future with Quincy Jones" whom I work with.... and many
other celebrity artists from around the world. Attached find a recent article written on my work in
the Los Angeles Times. Additionally I have included the article in the New York Times, and the
multiple features done on Afropop Radio and Afropop on line...for the first Sudanese Music &
Dance Festival ever 2007 held last year in New York. This was also funded solely by myself, Dr.
Mutwakil, and the City of New York, Central Park... and was free.
The Sudanese Information Center of Los Angeles was formed in 1992 and is a non profit
organization that dealt with getting Sudanese in America their political asylum (more than 1000
documented cases) and also helped Sudanese in Medical treatment, educational and social
programs. It has no relationship whatsoever with the Sudanese Government or its embassy’s in
America. In fact it efforts are directed against the current Sudanese regime. As an Internationally
recognized music producer, and composer in 1997 it was my great honor to one first meet and
then work with Dr. Mutwakil who is the president of the Sudanese Information Center in of Los
Angeles in documenting the legendary artist and musician Mohamed Wardi at the time that their
was a religious ban on him and his songs in Sudan. And this is how I become so passionate
about the music and artists of Sudan. I was so impressed by their talent and beautiful art form,
that they literally won my heart. And this is why I do this work for Sudanese Cultural Arts, and its
artists.

No support what so ever financially or morally have been given or accepted by us from
neither the SUDANESE GOVERNMENT nor the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC or
the Sudanese UN Mission in New York for last in Central Park NY, or this year (Chicago
and Detroit) or any future events.
I am personally funding this along with the following;
1. The City of Chicago with the theater, general, staging production, and two nights of hotels
for the group only.
2. Dr. Mutwakil is personally funding it with all the expenses of air flights, visas, hotels,
etc bringing the musicians and artists here. I restate again that no funds or any type
of support has been accepted by Dr, Mutwakil Mahmoud from the Sudanese
Government or its Embassy’s in America.
This has been a major undertaking and we are all working hard to make this free non paid event
.a great presentation for all Sudanese & American audiences. This event is a celebration of the
Sudanese Music & Dance Culture from all parts of Sudan. We hope that it can help the world see
the incredible beauty and amazing talent of all the people of Sudan, through music and how
important their music is to the rest of the world.
The artists are donating their time beyond overall general expenses. And we are doing are very
best to be able to keep providing this type of opportunities to the International Audiences to get
to know all about the Sudanese Art, Music and Dance culture.

If youa and Dr.Mutwakil love Sudan that much ..why do not you pay first and and then let us talk about our love and loyality to Sudan and how to raise the name of the Sudan up...and as the egyptains said 'allie ma aandoush ma yelzamoush...so please do not try to make 'sharaat' I do not think that Dr. Mutwaki will have an election soon
if you love him him that much pay what he owes so you can praise him more ...or what !!!!!!!!!!!!!that is what lead us always to the back...!!!!!!!!!

what you are doing here is very bad for you, for your customers, for confidence between people
what you are doing here amounts to disclosing private and confidential information, and character assasination

يعني يمكن نقول وكالة سفر امريكية تدار بالطريقة العشوائية السودانية
the ABC of business in Amertica says.. you can not deal with some one in America because he is a sudanese or Egyptian and then you go to some discusson boards and post accusations. all in all,the whole matter seems to me very funny business wise that your company never asked the buyer a credit card or post dated cheques

الدكتور متوكل ويوسف الموصلي أشخاص نزيهين وسمعتهم طيبة
وبيعملوا الخير وبرموه البحر كله من أجل السودانيين..
هل إتصلتي بالدكتور متوكل أو الموصلي وطلبتي منهم المبلغ ورفضوا؟
ثم ثانيا لماذا لا تحلي الموضوع معهم شخصيا بدلا عن عرضه هنا
في منبر عام.. فقط يفهم من ذلك إشانة السمعة ليس إلا..
لن تجدي حل للمشكلة هنا.. إتصلي بهم وناقشيهم شخصياً..
الكلام هذا سيؤثر على سمعة وكالة السفر التي تعملين لديها.

الاخوة الكرام.
أنا أعتقد أن الاخت سوزي لديها كل الحق لكي تنشر أو تكتب هنا ما تراه صحيحا، ويبدوا لي من كلام الاخت سوزي أن هنالك علاقة قديمة بين الوكالة وبين الاخ الدكتور متوكل بمعنى أن الثقة موجودة أصلا بين الطرفين. أما حديثنا عن الدكتور متوكل والاستاذ الموصلي بمعنى أنهم خيرين وما شابه ذلك أنا أتفق معكم أيضا ولكن يجب عليهم أن يردو على الاتهامات التي كتبت هنا في حقهم وهذا الموضوع لا يحتمل التأخير أبدا. وأعتقد أن الاخت سوزي تعي تماما ما تقول لأن أي كلمة كتبتها هنا قد تعرضها الى مسألة قانونية كبيرة إذ ثبت عدم صحتها.

طالما أن هنالك علاقة قديمة والثقة موجودة بين الطرفين لماذا لا تتمهل
الأستاذة سوزي قليلاً قبل أن تطلق العنان لنفسها بالكتابة والتشهير بسمعة
عملاء معروفين لديها تتهمهم وتعلنها أمام الملأ أجمعين..
في إنتظار الدكتور متوكل ويوسف الموصلي للرد على هذه الإتهامات.

You will not get your money by publishing this here, don't you guys have a collection policy in the company? I am not really sure, what is the point of all of this, are you looking for donations? do you want to ruin their reputation or do you want us as members of this forum to tell them to pay you your money?
I suggest you contact them directly and ask for the money, and if all fails, contact a collection agency like any reputable agency and business. I can't believe you run your business this way, you give away tickets with no deposits, or credit cards to hold, and then cry online. Sorry Suzzie I am not trying to be harsh on you, but this is just not like you, I am sure you are acting out of anger, but this is not the way to do business. With regards, and respect.

If everyone hve read what I wrote from the beginning carefully they would realize that I said 'when I saw the comments about the Chicago festival ' and I did not receive until that time payments for the tickets as I was promised and the situation was so critical ..then I wrote ...I did not write that to ask for any donations or to harm anyone but since it was a public occassion for Sudan and not personal and that is exactly why I accept to issue the tickets and that definitely will be paid by (organizers and sponsers.. so did you get it now!!!!

على الرغم من أن منظمى مهرجان السودان للموسيقى "والرقص" زى ما سموهو ..تعمدوا اقصاء الفرقة المتخصصة فى الرقص الشهيرة "عرايس النيل" وتناساها الاصدقاء الفنانين المشتركين فى المهرجان وكأنها لم تكن أول فرقة فنية لها رسالة سياسية وقدمت أهم عروضها فى أدق المواقف من أجل الوقوف بجانب قبائل السودان المستضعفة ....
الا أننا على استعداد للمساهمة فى حل المشكل المالى الذى تعرض له المهرجان ...ولو فى أى تبرعات بتتجمع ...نحن لها ....

No Deng, I am not blaming the victim for what happened, but I am blaking her for the road she is taking now to recove her losses. She gave them what they wanted without ay guarantees, now they did not pay her back for whatever reasons. She needs to pursue other means like any reputable business manager, what is she getting out of publishing this here? OK< people think they lied to her and did not pay her, and their reputation is ruined? she still wont get the money back, instead to pursue legal routes. I don't know any of them, but I know her and dealt with her travel agency before, and have no complaints, and this does not sound like her. anyway goodluck to her, and I hope they either explain, pay her back or ask for an extension.

Elmoiz.......the only agreement is that these tickets are to paid within a certain time limit which was already known and agreed upon ...other than that is just informing me that they will paid ...

انا ما جبت ليك سيرة الموصلي, انا سؤالي كان واضح, اديتيهم التزاكر ليه قبل ما يدفعوا القروش؟؟ ثاني حاجه انت كتبتي مشكلتك في موقع عام من حق الجميع قرأتها و الرد عليك و الاستفسار و محاولة ايجاد حل معاكي, طولي نفسك شويه و على العموم انت غلطانه ما في زول في امريكا بيدير شركه باسلوب نسوان الحله مع سيد الكنتين ادينا صلصه ابونا لمن يرجع بعدين بيديك, و يكونوا هم استعملوا الصلصه و يا يدوه يا ما يدوه, على كل حال ربنا يفرج كربتك.

للاخوة الذين طلبوا الموضوع بالعربية:
المهرجان السودانى للموسيقى والرقص.. هل هو اكذوبة ام ما ذا؟؟
متاسفة للكتابة بالانجليزى لعدم وجود لوحة مفاتيح عربية واذا حاولت استعمال اللوحة الالكترونية فسوف يستغرق ذلك زمن طويل فارجوا ان تسامحونى لهذا.
على كل حال وانا اطالع الموقع (سودانيزاونلاين) شاهدت الصور والفديو كلب لمايسمى المهرجان السودانى للموسيقى والرقص بمدينة شيكاغو. لو كانت هذه منابسة اخرى ساكون اكثر سعادة وفخر باسم السودان وانا اقراء التعلقيات حول الابداع المدهش هناك .. ولكن الحقيقة الغائبة انه كذب وخداع لاننى والشركة التى اعمل بها تضررتنا بصورة مباشرة وغير مباشرة لا لا لا ..يجب التوقف للتعبير عن حزنى لما حدث وحقيقة الالم عندما تخدع وتستغل ويكذب عليك .. هذا غير مقبول..
الدكتور متوكل هو نوعا ما المنظم لهذا الاحتفال عندما خطط لاحضار بعض الموسيقيين من السودان ولندن للمشاركة فى هذه المناسبة ، قرر ان يشترى هذه التذاكر من وكالة زمزم للسفر على ان يقوم بالدفع فورا . لم يخطر على بالى بتاتا اننى سوف اتعرض للمشاكل الكبيرة الحالية.. لان قيمة تذاكر محمدية وعلى السقيد واربعة اخرين من السودان 9750.00$ لم تسدد بعد وقيمة تذاكر عبدالحفيظ كرار وابنه واخرين من لندن بالاضافة الى تذاكر محلية (داخلية) لعمر بانقا ويوسف الموصلى وتذكرة عودة ل امال وبيتر واخرين بلغة تكاليفها 7580.00$ لم تسدد ايضا حتى الان مما يعنى ان قيمة التذاكر الكلية المطلوب سدادها 17330.00$ .
ونتيجة لفشل الدكتور متوكل فى سداد هذا المبلغ للوكالة مما ترتب عليه عجز الوكالة عن تسديد استحقاقات شركات الطيران مما ادى الى اغلاق الاجهزة الخاصة بالحجز من قبل الجهات المختصة وبالتالى فقدت الوكالة صلاحيتها فى اصدار اى تذاكر سفر جديده.
اين العظمة والابداع عندما تبنى الاشياء على الكذب والخداع لرفع اسم السودان عاليا والفخر به انها ليست كافية لتسديد قيمة التذاكر لشركات الطيران والوضع الصعب الذى وضعت فيه هو من دفع.
اعلم ان هناك من يفكر فى ان ما اقوم به هنا غير حميد وان (من ستر مؤمنا ستره الله يوم القيامة) ولكنا نعلم ان من صفات المؤمن والمسلم لا يكذب ولا يغش ولا ياذى
لم اكتب هذا الموضوع من اجل استدرار العواطف والشفقة .. ولكن من اجل توضيح الحقيقة التى حدثت خاصة وان هنالك اخريين تضرروا كمالك الوكالة وشخصى لمدير . فد كان تعاملى مبنى على الثقة فى الكلمة والعهد من الدكتور متوكل ..
على الذين ياملون فى استعمال تذاكر العودة للخرطوم ولندن البحث عن تذاكر اخرى اذا انه غد تم الغائها من جانب خطوط الطيران وهذه خارجة عن ارادتى. ولكننى سوف اصلى من اجلكم واجلى فى ان ينجينا المولى عز وجل جميعا. واخيرا انا مندهشة ومتسائلة لماذا.. لماذا .. لماذا .. لماذا ؟؟ واردد حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل...
وقبل ذهابكم الى ديترويت لتغنوا وترفصوا من الاحسن ان تدفعوا ما عليكم من مبالغ.

هذه مصيبة حقيقية وقعت على رأس الأخت سوزان!! نسأل الله إزالتها سريعا.
وكالتها الآن خرجت من العمل بسبب توقف شركات الطيران عن التعامل معها، بعد عجزها عن سداد حوالي 18,000 دولار. وسبب ذلك عدم تمكن الأخ د. متوكل، أو إدارة المهرجان، من تسديد المبلغ المذكور في الوقت المتفق عليه.
أتفهم تماما غضب سوزان وحيرتها، مما دفعها إلى إثارة هذه المشكلة المحيرة فعلا في هذا المنبر..
وهي قد تصرفت بطيبة السودانيين وثقتهم المعهودة بعضهم ببعض في الغربة، خاصة وأن الموضوع يتعلق بمهرجان موسيقي، يتوقع أن يكون منظموه مستعدين له جيدا. والعمل التجاري في كل بلاد الدنيا تقريبا يقوم جزء كبير منه على الثقة.ولكن هذه الثقة عادة لا تمنح إلا بعد معرفة وتجربة طويلة.
المهم، واضح أن إدارة المهرجان غير قادرة حتى الآن على تسديد المبلغ للأخت سوزان.
وهناك مشكلة عاجلة تحتاج إلى حل عاجل. ولا يجدي ترديد الأسئلة والاستفسارات لسوزان، وكأنها في مجلس محاسبة.
اتفق مع الأخوان الذين أبدوا استعدادهم للتبرعات..
لكني لاحظت أن جمع التبرعات في تجارب سابقة من خلال هذا المنبر يحدث حوله كلام كثير وفعل قليل وبطيء.
يبدو لي أن الحل العملي هو أن يقوم أحد الأعضاء ممن لهم "كرديت هيستري" جيد أو ممتاز، بضمان قرض للأخت سوزان، تسدد به المبلغ المطلوب، على أن يستمر جمع التبرعات في صندوق خاص تسدد منه الأقساط الشهرية للقرض. في هذه الأثناء قد تتمكن إدارة المهرجان من تسديد المبلغ المطلوب أو بعضه، وقد تستطيع الأخت سوزان تسديد جزء من المبلغ بعد أن تستعيد وكالتها نشاطها المعتاد، كما نأمل.
ولنكون عمليين،
اقترح أن تتكون لجنة من ثلاثة متطوعين لتشرع في جمع التبرعات، ولتكون جهة اتصال لمن يود أن يتطوع بضمان القرض أو بعضه.

This is exactly what I ansewered you yesterday after what you said about settlement and that I agreed to give the tickets as salf'...I told you I do not know you to quote what I never said and again I did not mention your name at all about agreeing to buy from me tickets and I did not ask you to pay ....and if that why did you contact the owner on Friday that you are all doing your best to collect the money since you are not responsible ..since the main point at the point is you want me to take off the post before the detroit festival since I can not see any point of calling the owner and tell him that ....so either you are in or out of the issue ...'dancing at the middle of the rope ' believe me is no good .... so since you admit you are not responsible just get out of it and I do not need advice what to do next..!!!!!

لا أعتقد بأن هنالك شخص حملك أنت المسئولية، ولكن يا عزيزي هنالك مسئولية أخلاقية Moral obligation يجب أن يتحلى بها أي فنان،عازف أو منظم لهذا الحفل. خصوصا عندما تعلم أن هنالك أستحقاقات لم يتم الالتزام بها وأن هنالك من سيخسر الكثير من تبعات ذلك. عشمنا كان أن تتدخل أنت وتحاول تجد حل سريع لهذا الامر ولكن عندما تدخل هذا البوست بعد أكثر من أسبوع وتكتب ما كتبت فأنت هنا تعقد المشكلة بصورة أكبر ولا تساعد في حلها. أنا أقول ذلك لأنك الشخص الوحيد الذي على أتصال مباشر مع الاخ الدكتور متوكل محمود الان.

يااستاذ موصلي الاخت سوزي لم تخطئ في حقكم ولم تًُُشر لا من قريب او من بعيد عن مسئوليتكم
وانما ذكرت ان د. متوكل هو المسوؤل عن دفع قيمة التذاكر
استاذ موصلي لم يحالفك التوفيق في ردودك هنا كان الاجدي ان تتفاكر مع دكتور متوكل في كيفية حل
هذا الاشكال بدلا عن التفكير في مقاضاة سوزي.

العواطف الانتا بتقول ماتنجروا وراءها هي زاتها السبب الذي جعل هذه الاخت تقوم بتقديم هذه التزاكر المؤجلة الدفع

Listen to the opening of Omer Ihsas & the Peace Messengers' album "Imagine" and you will hear this message spoken in English: "The more we dance, the more we sing, the more we live in peace."
It could be the unofficial anthem of the Sudanese Music & Dance Festival, an unprecedented gathering of musicians from the East African nation that will rock the Pritzker Pavilion on Thursday night.

Although the performers come from different locations, ethnic backgrounds and generations, they share one vision.
The festival's goal is "to work for a united, peaceful, democratic and just Sudan," said Dr. Mutwakil Mahmoud, an adviser to the International Sudanese Arts and Music Institute, which is co-producing the event.
Of course, Sudan, the largest country in Africa, has mostly been in the news for things other than music. Because of its military government and the Darfur conflict in western Sudan, it is seen by many as one of the world's most unstable countries.
Despite the hardships today, musicians strive to remain socially engaged and to keep their music relevant. Featured in the festival are a wide range of Sudan's greatest living musicians and singers. Many of the performers have been granted political asylum in other countries; others are coming directly from Sudan. Bringing them all together was a logistical challenge.
"I don't know that this will ever happen again," said Dawn Elder, one of the festival's producers. "It was a massive undertaking."
The reunion of the Al Balabil sisters is a highlight of the festival. The trio began performing as teenagers in the '70s; they were known as "Khartoum's answer to the Supremes." In 1989, with Islamic laws in place, doors once open to women began to close. For more than two decades, circumstances in Sudan have made it impossible for the trio to perform.
Sudan may be split over political and religious beliefs, but musicians from all over the country have developed musical styles that blend new ideas and textures into a national sound.
Among these performing at the festival are singers Abu Araki al-Bakheit, Ali Alsigaid, Abdel Gadir Salim, Omer Ihsas, Mohammad Adaroab and Omar Banaga Amir. The younger generation is represented by singer-songwriter Rasha Sheikh Aldein, singer-guitarist John Kudusay and reggae/hip-hop artist Dynamq.
Yousif El Moseley is musical director for the show and will conduct the Nile Music Orchestra of Sudan. Special guest Manute Bol, the 7-foot-7 former NBA player who was born in Sudan, also is scheduled to make an appearance.
Elder says these singers, songwriters and musicians are "the heart and soul of Sudan."
"In their songs, they are calling for peace, for freedom, for justice and for equality," Elder said. "They are hoping to accomplish what all the politicians and diplomats can't -- to bring the people together to create a democratic society and country
