AJC Welcomes ICC Indictment Against Sudanese President
March 4, 2009 – New York –– AJC welcomed the issuing of an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir by the International Criminal Court.
“The arrest warrant for al-Bashir underlines the responsibility of the Sudanese regime for the dreadful crimes which have been visited upon the people of Darfur over the last six years,” said David A. Harris, AJC Executive Director.
“Al-Bashir has consistently claimed that the charges against him are fabricated, but the international community has seen through this lie,” Harris continued. “Every measure must now be taken to ensure that al-Bashir faces trial for the crimes he stands accused of. Urgent measures are also needed to end the suffering of Darfur’s people, so that they can live free from the fear of murder, rape, forced displacement and the other horrendous acts committed in the region.”
Al-Bashir is charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Darfur region of Sudan. Hundreds of thousands of people have perished as a direct result of the actions of the Sudanese military and allied militias, while millions more have been forcibly displaced.The ICC warrant is the first to be issued against a sitting head of state.

من ويلات السودان وحكومته....
ودعم هذا المجلس يتماشي مع افعال الحكومه الاسرائيليه الدمقراطيه..
