Khartoum, Jan. 26 (SUNA)- Vice - President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has affirmed Sudan commitment to support the International Zakat Union in its role in disseminating Zakat (alms) Figih.
This came in his address Tuesday at Corinthia Hotel to the concluding sitting of the Foundation Meeting of the International Zakat Union.
Hassabo has expressed Sudan honour to host the headquarters of the International Zakat Union and to provide support to it.
He called for disseminating the Figih and culture of Zakat and expanding the Zakat umbrella.
He described the Zakat as the biggest socio-economic development project for alleviating poverty.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Welfare and Security, Mashaer Al-Dawalab, hoped the International Zakat Union will contribute to enhancing the exchange of experiences, referring to the great progress achieved in Sudan at the field of Zakat.
