A NEW POLITICAL ARMED MOVEMENT IN THE NORTH

, Hello everyone! the voices of displaced an others are raised, do you know this group? please see below, Muna

THE MOVEMENT FOR JUSTICE TO THE FORCIBLY DISPLACED SUDANESE AND FOR THE NEW SUDAN (MJFDS)

    Political Declaration
    December 4, 2004

Now the Sudan is at crossroads, and never before since its independence in 1956 has its very existence been seriously challenged the way it s been today. The politically and morally bankrupt governments that came and went in Khartoum have been consolidating power and wealth into the hands of small minority cliques at the centre. This has resulted in the political, economic and cultural marginalization of various nationalities in Sudan, and threatened the unity and peaceful coexistence among them. The situation has been further exacerbated by the failed policies pursued by the current NIF regime that refused to respect the ethnic, religious and cultural diversity of the Sudanese societies. Moreover, uneven development between the various regions in the country has triggered full-scale civil wars in the South, East and the West ushering our country into a state of almost total collapse.

The ruling cliques in Khartoum have consistently perceived Sudan through the prism of North-South, Moslems-Christians and Arab-Africans dualities, as had indeed done the colonialists in the past. The appeal of such poor categorization has ceased to exist, however, when the peoples of Nuba Mountains and Southern Blue Nile opted to wage a protracted liberation struggle alongside the people of South Sudan. Similarly, the people of Dar Fur broke the mould and launched an armed struggle against the NIF regime that exploited Islam for political ends. Now, we declare from the heartland the North that the people of the Nile and Northern states have not escaped marginalization in any shape or form. They are an integral part of the core Sudanese people with aspirations for justice, equity, unity on new basis and the building of New Sudan. Such categorization of the Sudanese people into Arabs and Africans flies in the face of all realities. The fact is at no point in history have Arabism and Africanism been on collision course in Sudan. Instead, they fused together through intermarriages and realignment of interests to forge a common destiny.

As we embark on our campaign from Northern Sudan, we don’t seek the disintegration of Sudan in the name of the Northern entity . We remain advocate of the unity of Sudan predicated on justice and equity. To that end we will work collaboratively with all forces of New Sudan. We recognize that there are no threats to Arabs or Arabism in Sudan, but it is rather the current regime, despite pursuing a consistent policy of marginalizing the others, that is facing the danger of collapse.

The forcible removal of the Nubians and inhabitants of Wadi Sheiria and Jihad was carried out to the satisfaction of a small minority in power that remains largely insensitive to the suffering of its compatriots. The calamity of the inhabitants of Hamadab-Marawi dam area was triggered by the presidential decree No. 61 of 1999 which called for the forcible displacement of thousands of people. And although the regime promised relocation and payment of reparations for the victims, it was quick to backtrack on those pledges. Worse still, it unleashed a campaign of intimidation to terrorize our people.

It was in response to this tragic situation that the Movement for Justice to the Forcibly Displaced Sudanese and for the New Sudan (MJFDS) came to the fore. It is a national movement that welcomes to its membership all Sudanese citizens irrespective of their race, ethnicity, religion or gender. The manifesto that outlines our vision, mission and program shall be circulated shortly. However, at this juncture, we would like to underline the following principles:

    1. We shall work to seek redress the grievances of all those who have been forcibly removed in Northern Sudan and other areas and tailor future development program to meet that target.

    2. We continue to work in collaboration with all marginalized people in Sudan to build the New Sudan of equity and justice whilst seeking to set a national program accommodating the ethnic, religious and cultural diversity in our country. We also aim to set guidelines for policies to redress all economic imbalances, particularly for victims of coercive removals.

    3. Armed struggle remains a chief means of our struggle, without prejudice to other means.

    4. We believe in the peaceful resolution of all the ills of our country, provided the NIF regime agrees to it.

    5. We shall seek to work with all Sudanese opposition forces, most notably the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to achieve a just peace, democratic transformation and the building of New Sudan.

    6. We advocate a well-balanced foreign policy predicated on total respect for neighborly relations and the promotion of regional and international cooperation, particularly with our immediate neighbors. Notable among them are Egypt and Libya.

We call on all regional and international organizations, particularly those working in the field of human rights, environment and archaeology to reach out for the all the forcibly displaced Sudanese, especially the people of Hamadab-Marawi dam area. We call upon our members within Sudan and outside to draw the attention of these organizations in a bid to create a broader platform for regional and international solidarity with the victims of coercive removal.

Faced with the failure of the NIF regime to address the problems of our country, we resolved to establish the MJFDS and its military wing the Army for Justice to the Forcibly Displaced Sudanese and for the New Sudan (AJFDS). As we embark on our struggle to address the grievances of our oppressed people in Sudan, we passionately call upon all our compatriots, especially the youth, to join and take up arms to achieve all the objectives we set for ourselves and our country.
