Why can’t America help in Darfur? This is one of the good questions out there, and the answer for it, would appear to be an easy one. Before answering such question, we have to figure out what kind of American administration that would help on the Sudanese affairs. The current administration, which is led by G.W Bush, has other significance issues to worry about. Right now, the Iraqi conflict is considered to be the first for America to deal with and since the situation or the state of the war is going on, America representing by the Bush Administration, can't help the Sudan at the current time. Even though, the United Nation called on America to involve as a contributing party to solve the Sudanese affairs, the same UN wouldn't be able to handle the situation in Iraq if it were to be left alone in Iraq. As for the Sudanese affairs, this administration has already been involving by adopting the Sudanese peace talk, however, Americans would view what is happening in Darfure as something new and could interrupt the peace talk. I don’t think the officials are ignoring the situation in Darfur ,but it is known that new conflicts need more time to be dealt with. The Iraqi people had to wait for very long time, before having the American troops knocking the doors of Baghdad.
I believe before having a movement that headed by the UN or other groups to help Darfurans or Sudanese at large, we need to convince the world that what is happening in the Sudan is a reality and isn’t a series of organized lies. There is a lot of factors do make the Bush administration not to have more involvement in the Middle East and in the Sudan. Bush is facing many difficulties that people in the Middle East at large and in the Sudan especially, don’t see and understand. What has been going on with this administration is beyond all the imaginations and the domestic issues Bush isn’t handling well enough. People in the Sudan don’t understand what it takes for Bush to convince the public in America that he is doing the right thing. The public in America wouldn’t support any military action that supported and led by the USA against the Sudan. Instead of sending the young men and women who serve in the army, the public in America would want Bush to figure out ways to help creating Jobs and not to mention making America safe. I think, it would have been better if the Iraqi war didn’t happen, because the Bush administration would welcome to involve solving the war in Darfur.
