Dear Rani,
It seems that you've got "W32.Blaster" worm, to remove it manually, try to do the following:
1- press Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager and select the Processes tab look for a process named msblast.exe in the list
2- click the process to highlight it
3- click the 'End Process' button, close Task Manager.
4- Search for the file msblast.exe in the Windows system folder and delete it.
You will also need to edit the following registry entry:
1- At the taskbar, click Start|Run. Type 'Regedit' and press Return. The registry editor opens. "Incorrect editing of the Windows Registry can cause system failure!" 2- Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE entry: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
in the righthand pane select
windows auto update = msblast.exe
and delete it if it exists.
3- Close the registry editor. You should reboot your computer and repeat the above process to ensure all traces of the worm have been removed from your system.
If done.. follow Khalid Elhag instructions and tips!
Regards.
P.S. It is very important to keep your WindowsXP updated, get the latest from: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
