Thank you for posting this very interesting topic. However, do not get too much carried away with the call for the africanization or arabization of Sudan. In the very similar manner that there is a movement among the minorities in Sudan for the de-arabization there is on the other token a movement for the separation of Sudan on ethnic lines, arabic speaking ones versus non-arabic speaking ones living in peace each on his own boarder. The movement for africanization ONLY of Sudan, is rather a strongly weak movement. Its basic core is no arabic/arabs in Sudan or a new Sudan soon to be. It banks on the historical relations between the different ethnic groups in Sudan and their bad/good relations through different times. In its essence it is a racist movement that harbors arabs and Islam in Sudan volumes of hatred ably expressed in most of the writings in this board of people such as Bashasha, Roada and the gang. Its major weakness is the lack of providing any alternative viable culture for the sudanese masses vis-a-vis the arabic one. For example, you can certainly look at the slogan "No arabia no shargia no gharbia, african sudania 100%" but what is this african sudania there are no such details. Also follow up the writings of those who call for such a lousy slogan, there is almost no intellectual contribution on their part to detail this. In most of the times, it is merely critiques of the ancientt ethnic relations in Sudan. There major points of strenght is the support they find from a bunch of northern secular sudanese who support such calls for no love of the africanization or anything but rather their dislike to on one hand the current government and two for any process of making religion, aka Islam, a fundamental part of the society . This movement is doomed should it not gain support from the arabic sudanese people and in that it will be akin to shooting the self destroy button. The arabic culture in Sudan has taken roots deep long ago it will not be wiped out. Next time I will write about the theory of multi-culturlism and multi-ethnicity and would that be a good one or a bad one for Sudan
