الأخ/ أسعد إبراهيم.. وهذا الموضوع أيضاً أهتم به موقع الهلوكوست وهو بذات الخصوص.. دوس هنا.. Crackdown on Foreign Journalists An August 24th posting on the International News Safety Institute (INSI) website, highlights yet another group at risk in increasingly insecure Darfur. The posting reports that in the last five weeks, the Sudan government has arrested three international journalists who crossed the border from Chad without Sudanese visas. Tomo Kriznar, a Slovenian photojournalist, was convicted of espionage and received a two-year prison sentence. Apparently, another journalist, American two-time Pulitzer prizewinner Paul Salopek of the Chicago Tribune, was also arrested.
According to the INSI report, SLA rebel leader Minawi is cooperating with the government in the apprehension foreign journalists. The report also speculates that government-backed forces are planning an offensive against those who did not sign the Darfur Peace Agreement, which could account for the arrest and detention of foreign journalists. posted by John Heffernan Aug 25, 2006 - 01:12 PM
