Re: اليوم 6 أبريل (Re: عمر ادريس محمد)

Dear All The April Uprising was born with many deformities. Chief among them was the Trade Unions Alliance allowing the Transitional Military Council (TMC) to take-over the legislative and executive powers, thereby maintaining the Nimeiri's legacy, including the Muslim Brotherhood part of the regime. Also the failure of the Trade Unions Alliance to dictate its agenda, because it had no agenda of its own. Hence, the September Laws remained in the books. Further, its failure to pursue peace with the SPLM/A because it had no authority and had to go back to the TMC to obtain authority to negotiate the peace process Sudan was highly in need. Finally, the leadership it selected to lead the Uprising, in the form of the Chairman of the TMC and the prime minister, who had their hidden agendas, further incapacitated the Alliance to pursue any thing meaningful. These are, in my view, the main reasons we have what we have today.
