سيندي وحكاية الريد!
أجرى روجر استيفنز معها عام 1993، حواراً متميزاً وعميقاً، طرح فيه تقريباً 250 سؤالاً، ما يعد أطول حواراً في تاريخ الصحافة، ولكنه كان الأكثر لطافة والأكثر عمقاً والأكثر ترابطاً، إذ نجح بأسئلته العميقة ولطيفة في آن، أن يحافظ على حيوية وروح الحوار، وأن يتسرب إلى غياهب وجدان سندي، التي جاءت أجوبتها،في معظم الاوقات، صريحة وعفوية، مع قليل من الاستثناءات!
سالها عن الأغاني التي يزعم بأن بوب كتبها من أجلها، وذكر أنه يتصور، على الأقل ثلاث أغنيات، لعل اشهرها Turn Your lights Down Low، التي أمنّت عليها، ثم أردف ذلك بسؤال مباشر:" هل تشعرين بأن أغنية "Waiting in Vain" كُتبت في شخصك؟
فأجابت بشيء من التلعثم والغموض الأنثوي المُستحب، إذ جاءت اجابتها من شاكلة " لا أدري، لما لا، أتمنى أن يكون قد كتبها من أجلي."، على العكس من اجابتها الواضحة وصريحة وقاطعة حول أغنية " Turn Your lights Down Low"!
المفاجأة كانت عندما سألها عن أغنية" He Used To Call Me Dada" التي كتبها بوب من أجلها، فهي لم تسمع بها على الاطلاق، وأبدت دهشة عظيمة عندما تلى عليها روجر من الذاكرة ابيات القصيدة كلها، وأخبرها أن مصدره في تلك المعلومة القيّمة، هو جِلي، طباخ بوب مارلي.!!
وهذا بمثابة تأكيد بأن العلاقة بين ملكة جمال العالم وملك الريغي، قد مرت بمراحل عصيبة في الفترة التي تلت البوم Kaya، ربما بسبب دوران كليهما في فلك نجومية مختلف جدّا!
وهنا يؤكد روجر مرة أخرى قدراته العالية في التدقيق والتوثيق والإستقصاء!
