that's it? i thought there were more implementations. i heard somewhere that computerman college had a voice response system for registration or something.. any idea how did that implementation go? (on a side note, i'm a computerman graduate myself and hell ya.. i'm proud of it.. it provided a solid base for my post grad studies... but that's a seperate topic.. we might come back one day and talk about technology and education back home.. takhrima 3ala goul anwar)
cAlaa.. sounds like you had a bitter experience with this. do you mind sharing?)

cI almost want to say we should start another post becuase we're now talking about ebusiness and tyab
IVR, ghasil al3idda, and processes .. on a second thought.. let's continue on this one.. and let our thoughts flow naturally.. this is more of a long brainstorming session than a discussion about a specific topic.. but its all good
There can be many ways to define a process.. the simplest one is that its a series of actions, changes, or functions bringing about a result. within the context of the human resources business- for example- posting for a job is a process, the steps taken to post for the job define the process (writing a resume/ CV, getting recommendation letters/ references, researching the job itself...etc) the output of the posting process( the result) is usually an application that the applicant submits.. manually or electronically like in monster.com or dice.com.. or alkawadir.com. interviewing is another process, hiring is a third one.
c. within an e business context, shopping is a process that is made up of other processes.. comparing products is a process, selecting one is a process, purchasing, shipping. .are all processes. an important issue that gets overlooked sometimes,is that the same process can be looked at from different perspectives. it depends on who owns the proccess and who deals with it. ya3ni in Alaa's online shop, i get exposed to a part of the purchasing process as a customer, but he deals with the same process from a merchant's perspective. i care about the security of my creadit card that i'm using to purchase, and how easy and user- friendly is his check out procedure.. as a merchant, he is interested in processing my credit card, making sure that the transfer is completed successfuly.. and that the purchase order is processed correctly. also note that the output of a process can- and usually is- an input to another process. the output of a purchase process on Alaa's shop is a completed purchase order.. which is used to initiate a shipping process
haza bikhtisar(do i sound like saied Sadiq..talking too much??) mulakhas ma nushir about processes..it is very general and high level.. but serves the purpose of starting a discussion
the general context of a process or a set of processes can vary widely based on the owners and concumers of that process(s).. what i described above is within the context of business processes.. can someone think/ talk about process within the context of .. project management? or software development?)
cwill be back inshaAllah
