Quote: REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND SPONSORSHIP FOR BREAST CANCER MEDICAL MISSION TO SUDAN On June 26, 2011, the African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association, is partnering with the Sudanese Women Association to embark on a life saving medical mission to Sudan, Sub Sahara, Africa. This will be the first medical mission by AWCAA to Sudan. We are seeking your financial support for this trip. Past missions to other countries can be viewed on our website at: www.awcaa.org Our goal is to educate and screen over 1,000 women on this trip. With our team of breast surgeons, surgeries will be performed at NO COSTS to women in need. Last year, on a mission to Anambra, Nigeria (led by Dr. Onyewu, Chairman of AWCAA) we performed 9 biopsies, 3 mastectomies, 1 lumpectomy and 1 full breast reconstruction on a post mastectomy patient. AWCAA representatives will leave the United States on Sunday June 26, 2011 to Sudan and will return on July 9, 2011. The estimated cost for this trip is eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000). This includes travel expenses for the medical team (twelve in number) and freight costs for medications, equipment and supplies.
