Quote: Dear Colleagues and friends I am pleased to inform you that our colleagues back home decided to return to their posts from today 08.00 hr, Thursday 24th June 2010 I understood that they had firm assurances from the FMOH, the NISS and their senior colleagues and leaders that the detainees will be released within days and that the agreements will all be implemented soon. They lifted their strike in good faith trusting that their government, their employers and their senior colleagues will not conspire against them nor deceive them. They retuned to work as they wanted to end this protracted saga which started to have serious implications on health of their patients and the care they were receiving at the emergency units and the states' owned hospitals in the last 24 days. I congratulate them on this courageous move which reflects their good nature and their mature and professional attitude towards their duties, their patients and their country. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all those who supported them and their legitimate cause by words,and by actions and to urge you all to continue your pressure on the government to release the detainees.
