Thanks Yahya for the historical discription. I would like to add some points from a historical and Arachaeological perspectives.
The word Kush or Cush is used to denote historical people and a historical culture. Some of Afro - centric scholars belive that Kuchites were the one who founded the Pharronic Egypt civilization. In their arguement they belive the population of Upper Egypt were Kuchite or in their terms indigenous Africans who successfully conqured lower Egypt which dominated by people of Midle East origin. Later, the two populations of the two lands mixed both biologically and culturally.
Back in Nubia another Kuchitic civilization emerged known as Kerma. The Napata - meroetic phase was a heir to Kerma civilization.
About Kuchite people Lingustic Anthroplogists grouped most people of Ethiopian plateau and Red Sea as Kuchites. The Origion of Kuchites is controversial but many support the hypothesis stating that Early Khartoum, Shahinab and Fayum were the roots of Kuchitic civilization.
