Nixon only avoided the court because he was pardoned by G Ford after his resignation but I will give you other examples from here in Britain to show the difference between the land of the civilisation Project and any civilived land.
1. Yesterday it was announced that several officials of the company that is responsible for running the rail track and stations in UK and a maintenance company to face criminal as well as safety and health charges because of a train accident about two years ago in which 4 people died. The then chairman of RailTrack (who is now facing court proceedings) resigned immediately the day the accident happenned.
2. The British Prime Minister had to accept grilling by a parliament committe because of his actions before Iraq war and now he is under pressure to open a public enquiry on the actions of his government. No one is calling the MPs or the journalists traitors.None of them was visited by security. None of them went into a ghost house.
3. Few years back a junior health minister made an off guard remark claiming that most eggs in British market are infected with salmonella. She did not finish the day in her office and her irresponsible remark ended her political career and now she is a talkshow host.
4. A very close friend of Tony Blair and briliant mind in Labour Party election victory in 1997 lost his job because he was accused of lying. He had to resign immediately from his ministrial job. A later committee of investigation cleared him of the lying allegations.
5. The same minister was forced to resign from an earlier because he did not disclose that he borrowed money from a fellow minister and friend to buy his house. No one alleged any wrong doing, corruption, etc., just the fact that the matter was not in the public domaim both ministers had to resign when it became public.
6. A former minister -Jonathan Aitkens- and a former senior leader of the conservative party -Jeffrey Archer- both ended spending time in prison because they lied in court (J Archer 12 years before the lie was discovered). He is still in prison.
Can we really compare our situation with this? Despite everything that happenned in Sudan no one ended paying for that. If anything the corrupt and the criminal just kept getting richer.
It is the Civilisation Project my friend. If they borrow a little bit from 'kuffar' in terms of ethics and standards in public life they may learn something
