An echo of the past
Feeding myself with the past On my coast of loneliness A past where fancifulness hided And the beautiful hopes resided With their glorious brightness Waiting your tidal waves to arrive And wash up my painful scatterness
Oh what a lamentable day When you raised up departure sails And just moved away Giving a deaf ear to my groans And tears to stay.
There in the saline cities Of loneliness and despair Cities of rust and decay I remain dreaming of a day When you land like a joyful bird Easing my long cry of pain And my wretched state of mind Like a straw of beaten up corn Which will never grow again
