Dear All It appears that the NIF/NCP government does not move except under an intensive pressure from the international community, particularly the United State. It was under this pressure it was forced to sign the Naivasha peace accord, while kicking and screaming. It will also be the same pressure that will make it implement Naivasha and conclude any peace deal with Darfur and the East. The Americans have come to know this, and they will use maximum pressure to make the Khartoum government comes to terms with the problems of the Sudan. The NIF/NCP has set its eyes on how to stay in power and is not willing to implement the Naivasha peace or resolve the Darfur and the East problems, because it weakens it every time it is required to take the right decisions and devolve power to the marginalized regions of the Sudan. I really believe that the NIF knows that the empowerment of the marginalized Sudan spells the ultimate end of its power in Khartoum. The good news, however, is that the Americans are keeping on the heat, and liberal minded Sudanese should encourage the USA keep on the pressure, despite the screaming and crying of the NIF in the name of Arab and Islam. It knows it will ultimately lose power, and that is the only way Sudan can remain united. It is trying to buy time by dragging its feet over the implementation of the Naivasha and reaching solutions with Darfur and the East.
