You say that spirituality and science are one and the same, in this I disagree with you. For if it was true all scientists would be in a very elated state, and I don’t believe that this is the case. It is, however, true in the case where those scientists’ eye of the soul (this was my best translation for our Arabic basieyra) is not blinded.

Subhan Allah, I have not heard about Einstein’s enlightenment but speaking of physicists, one of the most intriguing lectures I have attended as an undergrad was one given by Dr. Mahgoub Abaid in the physics department’s weekly (or was it bi-weekly) seminars. His lecture was on cosmology, black holes to be more specific. He spoke about a number of physical phenomenons that I was familiar with, but the most intriguing thing about the lecture was that most of the things he spoke about he would recite part of the Quran saying that this phenomenon is in this verse. It was really amazing seeing these complicated formulae stated so comprehensively in words we read and memorize, yet never recognize the depth of. Very unfortunately I do not have the notes that I took that day and I cannot recall all the phenomenon discussed that day, what I remember were the mention of black holes (in sha Allah I will look up the verse) and the description of the feeling astronauts get when leaving the earth’s atmosphere.
