I looked at Dr Muiz C.V at his electronic page. No question, very impressiv indeed. Then, why the controversy?!!?. I guess It is the Establishment. He presented his papers all over the place, except in Sudan, or may be I am wrong, correct me if that is not the case.. He had students from a variety of countries. The only mention to a sudanese hospital, is Alshaab, Khartoum, where he served an adminstrative role immediately after his graduation, well before he made a name for himself. I didn't see any talk or papers presented in Khartoum or any other sudanese City. It is the Establishment again, by this I mean, the faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum. I hope I am not dipping my feet into a muddy water. But why?. I have been away for a good while, and can't speek for any body, but among this gigantic wall, there are great legends, among them is THE proffessor (Ahmed Mohammed Alhassan- the father of pathology in Sudan with lots and lots of research in tropical diseases, including trypanosomiasis, and the other legend, Daood Mustafa, the father of them all and THE neurologist and so many other great physicians who grauated, came back and showed their work and were received with all the respect they desreve. How come, Dr Muiz, was unable to find a space for himself among them?. That question, only Dr Muiz can answer it, and I don't recommend he should come back to answer that, for he will propably add more fuil to the burning fire and this is not exactly the right place for that.. I don't beleive for a moment that the Sudanese doctors are destructive and suppressive to the each other, but there are general rules for the game and you have to be a good player within the establishment and don't sing off the court. May be, Ustaz Shawgi, is influenced by members of the other side of the fence, and this is a very powerful group indeed. Hope one day, Dr Muiz, will be recognized in his country, like what he received out side. Muiz, present your work in Sudan, may be you already did, I don't know..
