Although the wwhole article is full of contradictions and conclusions which are not justified by the premises, I will make small short coment on the above quoted text. Since the Al-Turabi/al-Bashir coup in 1989, the Ministery of Foreign Affairs was emptied of its trained and qualified staff and personnel. I do not think Mohammed al-Hassan Ahmed is ignorant of that fact. The present staff of the ministry were all recruited from the NIF party list and I do not think that all of them had qualifications. Some of them were selling "sari tobs" in the Gulf when they became overnight ambassadors and senior staff in the embassies. What, for instance, makes Stephen Wondo less qualified than an emboassador who was a public relation officer in a Saudi company? Stephen Wondo has represented the SPLM/A in Northe America for more than ten years, and Dr. Lam cannot credibly rule this person is not qualified. Dr. Lam has his own axe to grind with staff of the SPLM/A members of those offices. Most of the staff of this offices are university graduates, some with higher degrees like Lam. It is shame for Mohamed al-Hassan Ahmed to be trying to give us the old wine in a new bottle. We are sick of people like Mohammed al-Hassan Ahmed who want to die sawing discord among southerners in the old fashion. Mohammed al-Hassan has pursued this line of thinking for the last fifty years and has alwyas reaped dust. Suddenly Mohammed al-Hassan has become the spokeperson of the NIF and Dr. Lam Akol, talking about an immeinent split in the SPLM. This is all wishful thinking. Period. I shall be back on this same article.
