Rania,The subject really deserves
alot of attention. Your conclusions were right about
Sudanese existence on the web, were
milllions of people can watch and read what u put on this rich environment! We lack good representation on the internet due to many factors, I'll speak about those in a latter post.
Many times i
get conctacts from people (Sudanese) to create projects for them and when I start they just
skip!! This was the case with a
Sudanese professor who contacted me to create a website for hime but unfortunately he changed his mind. I did the project for an
Egyptian professor(
http://www.bradley.edu/academics/eng/Civil/Html/nassar/, the man was so enthusiastic about that, I
wished I could have done this for one of my own people!!
As the webmaster of
SSOBU ( Sudanese Student Organization at Bradley University), I feel so proud that our site just has been chosen as the
Best Resource Site of the year by
Nem 5 Awards program, the
best Fees-Free American Web Awards Program. This is the
first time an african site wins this award. The site also is the winner of
Maestro International Award, given to the best worldwide.
I wish this gives some hope.
I'm now finishing the first arabic language project for El-Sheikh Elamin. The site is very advanced technically and is due to be online in 10 days.
I'm starting a
huge project to feature some my father's works online in English and Arabic versions. The project would be an online ecyclopedia about most of his 40 books especially Qamus Allahja al3amia . The project will be supported by The library of Congress. I hope this project see the light within a year from now.
I'll be back for more discussion as soon as I get time.
Wish u the best.
