Q: Have you submitted your resignation voluntarily or you have been forced to resign ?
A: I have been forced to resign.
Q: But you have submitted your resignation by yourself?
A: It was in response to a request by Mr. president, my leader, and as a Muslim I am required to obey the Imam with clout even if he is corrupt.
Q: What was happened with the Government delegation that came to Al-Gedarif to cease tensions between you and the central?
A: In fact, it was not a governmental delegation, they were two persons, Al-Sharif Ahmed Omar Badr and Muhammad Al-Tayeb Abdallah, have sent by the National Congress Party (NCP). Nothing had happened, they met with citizens and other parties in the state.

Q: Did you come back with them to Khartoum ?
A: Yes I came back with them at the request of Vice President Ali Osman.
Q: What Taha wanted from you?
A: I explained to him what happened between me and the federal Ministry of Finance regarding the previous Taha’s instructions that the ordering finance ministry to give the Al-Gedarif state 25 vehicles but the finance minister refused to implement. Taha blamed him for not reaching out to him over the issue
Q: why didn’t phone him ?
A: I don't have his private phone number. I have phone number of his special secretary. Throughout these events, I have phoned him many times but there is no answer, and finally I sent him sent sms. I have no private phone number of the President himself but I have contacts with his director of office.
Q: What Taha told you ?
A: Taha asked me first to reverse my decision on the cabinet and go abroad on a "long" medical treatment trip. Then he said to me " after that we will decide"
I asked him did you send the vehicles I requested to the state. He said ’No’. I told him you want to tell me submit your resignation? He said ’Yes’.
Then I added:" if I refuse to submit my resignation, you will sack me under emergency law as happened with the governor of North Darfur state Abdel Hamid Musa Kasha, but the emergency law under the Constitution and therefore do not have a right to sack me because I'm an elected governor, therefore I will resign at request of Imam and his deputy.
Q: But the press statements reported that you have resigned voluntarily?
A: They are false
Q: Then what after that ?
A: The elections in the state will be held after (60) days, should the elections be fair, I will win a landslide victory. And I hope not to be like Malik Aggar.
Q: Are you sure that people of Al-Gedarif state will elect your as a governor?
Q: What is your disagreements with the federal Ministry of Finance?
A: The Ministry of Finance has no certain criterion concerning distribution of money to the states, besides that the Presidency of the Republic intervenes directly in decisions of the ministry.
Q: Do you think that this scenario is prepared to sack you from the position?
A: Maybe
Q: What is your opinion about Ali Osman Taha?
A: Generally he is the best of NCP and he is educated at the hands of Sheik Hassan al-Turabi.
Q: Why did the NCP use the tribalism to run the State?
A: I asked Sheikh Ali the same question and he had told me that they are besieged from Western, therefore they needed this orientation to support and strengthen the party.
Q: Do you that the National Congress Party (NCP) failed to run the country?
A: The country is govern by the military foundation and not by the NCP.
Q: Will your stand for elections in the future ?
A: I will run again in the upcoming elections as either an independent or on the opposition National Umma Party (NUP), all options are open.
Q: Does Sheikh Ali Osman Taha support you?
A: I no longer trust anyone.
