Hamas Calls on Sudan for financial assistance

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has asked the Sudanese government for financial and political support, said Khalid Meshaal, head of Hamas political bureau. Meshaal informed reporters after a meeting with President Omar Albasher, in Khartoum that Albasher vowed to mobilize Arab capitals to support Hamas financially and politically, and support Palestine’s position on Jerusalem. He added, “And to address Israeli policies”.
Khaled Meshaal, revealed that his movement in “a big battle”, and that Khartoum supports Hamas position and the Palestinian cause. He explained that Hamas delegation exchanged with President Albasher developments in the Palestinian arena, and the developments of the situation of the Arab Spring and international politics. Meshaal stressed that his movement was closely linked to Sudan's leadership and people, and pointed out that the Jerusalem Conference, held in Khartoum to discuss Israelis attempts to complete its Judaiztion which resulted in displacing 120 thousands of Palestinians’ in it.
For his part, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh (Hamas) in Gaza, told reporters that his delegation briefed Albasher on the developments taking place in Palestine and Gaza in particular and the circumstances of the siege and the Israeli aggression. Haniyeh made clear that President Albasher taut to follow up the Palestinian cause and what is happening in Jerusalem, pointed out that the meeting discussed how to carry out “the duty of Arab and Islam” in addressing the Israeli policies with regard to Jerusalem, and added, “ We found out that Sudan is ready to move in this direction”. Haniyeh said, “We asked Khartoum for financial support, and we also emphasize that the political position of Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine must be compromised in all cases”.
Hamas delegation to Khartoum was led by Khalid Meshaal, Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, head of government of Hamas in Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Al Zahar, Hamas spokesman and many others.
