South Africa, ANC to enhance cooperation with South Sudan, SPLM | Print | Sunday, 05 October 2008 South Africa and its ruling African National Congress have agreed to step up political and economic cooperation with the SPLM and South Sudan and support the SPLM’s efforts to deliver peace dividends to the people, as Sudan emerges from a 21-year devastating civil war.
South Africa made the commitment after two days of talks between ANC and SPLM leaders in Juba, which ended on October 1. Collins Chabane, member of the ANC’s National Executive Committee, led the party’s delegation that included ANC tycoon and member of the party’s NEC Tokyo Sekwale and Sisisi Tolashe, member of the ANC’s NEC and Secretary General of the ANC’s Women League.
SPLM Secretary General Comrade Pagan Amum, Deputy Secretary General for the Southern Sector Comrade Anne Itto and several Southern Sector Secretaries received the ANC delegation at Juba International Airport. http://splmtoday.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=136&Itemid=1
