Prince Cedza Dlamini
“Envisioning a world with no boundaries” Tuesday, February 20 An Evening with Prince Cedza Dlamini The Intercultural Library and Resource Area of the International Student & Scholar Institute (ISSI) 7:00 p.m. Prince Dlamini has a vision of a new world, and he has dedicated his life to finding ways to make his vision a reality. His vision is one in which Ubuntu, the South African concept/word to describe compassion, respect, integrity, and tolerance, is the organizing spirit to effect change in Africa, changes which can address the problems set forth in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals of poverty, education, gender equality, child mortality, maternal health, diseases such as HIV/AIDS and malaria, the environment, and global development. In the Ubuntu Institute for Young Social Entrepreneurs, which Prince Dlamini founded in 2005, young Africans are encouraged to become proponents of the communal value system and seek unity worldwide. In the spirit of his grandfather, Nelson Mandela, Prince Dlamini also travels the world to establish global networks of young leaders who will work together to combat global challenges. He was appointed Co-chair of the World Youth Peace Summit in 2003 and serves on the Global Action Youth Network to facilitate his goals of global partnership in decision-making. Born and raised in the Kingdom of Swaziland, Prince Dlamini returns to Boston from his home in South Africa to encourage the Northeastern community to embrace global unity and equality. Sponsored by the International Student & Scholar Institute (ISSI) as part of its Distinguished Speaker Series. Advance reservations are required at the ISSI, 405 Ell Hall (617.373.2310).
