Thank you very much. I honestly do not deserve this profuse praise. I try always to be balanced, because that is the right road that can guide us to the unity of our country. Presently and after the death of Dr. Garang, many southerners are not sure whether unity of Sudan is any longer a good idea. If Garang were alive many doubting southerners would have gone along with him. Garang had been the only southern leader that had totally convince the majority of southerners of the worth of unity. I had been among these southnerners, but now I am myself not sure if it is any longer a good idea to vote for unity. You also made a correct observation about being cocky somtimes. My comment about the burial of the Great Hero Ali Abdel Latif was uncalled for. However, there is no love lost between me and the Umma Party members. I hold Umma responsible for the lost of democracy three times,1958,1969 , and 1989. During these periods Umma had been leading but had failed to pursue policies that would unite the country and preserve democracy.
