تماهِيات مُنفلِتةٌ عن الإرصان
تماثل مُفرَط ......

كالحُ وعدُك إذ تماثَلنا ،
وزمّ شفاهُك
تحت سقفِ اللّيل
يوزع الإرهاقَ في الطّرقات ،
مدائنُ هرِمتْ
لملمتُ بعضها في عروقي ،
طائري غاب سنيناً ثمّ غاب ،
تكلّمت الحجارةُ عن توالينا
وناحت مغنيّةُ السّفر ،
انا الصّدى الذي اختلس الخروج ،
أختارني الدّرب إليه كي أسير
مدثراً باللّعنة الاولَى ،
رويــداً كنت أحسبها الخطىَ العوراء ،
أحفظُ من طقوس الحزن ما يكفي
لكي نبقى سوياً
أو نموت علي عجـل .

Unruly Identifications
Excessive symmetry

Morose is your promise,
as we identify with each other,
Your tightened lips
Under the canopy of the night hour
Dispatches weariness on deserted streets.
Run-down aging cities,
Collected, partly, in my veins,
And my bird flew away, for years
And is yet to be among the absent.
The ancient rocks foretold it all,
And the singing beggar, at departure stations,
intoned her farewell songs.
I am the echo
That snitched its self-inflicted exile;
The road has chosen me to its pathways
Cloaked in the original first curse.
I was reckoning, slowly,
My lame-blinded footsteps,
Memorizing what suffice
Of sorrow’s rites,
To keep both of us alive,
Or, expeditiously,
trudge on to our own demise.
