Dear All I believe SPLM is not in an enviable position. The peace of Naivasha was forced on it by the international community but in spite of, it had to accept it . The war had gone on for too long and the donor community showed clear fatigue. Feeding millions of refugees and IDPs used to cost these donors one billion a year, and to continue endlessly was unbearable for the western tax payers. SPLM knew very well that any peace agreement with NIF would end-up in the manner it is being implemented presently. It is true that in politics you may be forced to work with somembody you may not like at all, but working with somebody who has a complete different agenda or vision becomes even harder. The NIF is doing things that tell reasonable minds that nothing has absolutely changed. SPLM has no other alternative but to cross its fingers and just wait for the unknown. This what make southerners who strongly favor separation to tell Salva Kiir Mayardit, let us withdraw to the South and wait out the five remainig years. We should allow the NIF to do what it wants with the country, and when time comes we shall have our day and the final say how Sudan will look like.
