Subject: Investigation deportation Sudanese refugees
Hello,
I'm an independent journalist based in Amman, Jordan, and I'm investigating on the deportation of hundreds of Sudanese refugees from Jordan to Khartoum, Sudan. I would like to ask if you know about this issue and can help me, I would appreciate it so much. If not, if you can put me in contact with someone who knows about that.
I want to know specially what happened when the refugees arrived to Sudan: if most of them were imprisoned, tortured, prosecuted, or simply released and free. We know there are cases on these different situations, but we want know exactly which is the dynamic generally.
I mean, what the Sudanese government does with these refugees when they arrive to Khartoum and why, which is the motivation for these deportations: if this is the aim of the Sudanese government or Jordanian, and why. We know also that the deportations are continuing after the big deportation last December, so we want to understand how Sudanese government is managing this issue.
If we succeed in this investigation, probably we will work on an investigative documentary (audiovisual) about this cross-border issue.
I would appreciate if you can answer me this week as I need to move forward on this investigation.
Many thanks in advance,
