The Sudanese Marginalized Forum of North America, in collaboration with American and Sudanese civil society organizations, will organize a demonstration in front of the United Nations in New York City on Sunday October 7, 2012. The rally will coincide with the UN General Assembly and the ongoing Addis Ababa negotiation according to the UNSC Resolution 2046. It will also raise awareness about the conflicts in various parts of Sudan especially the marginalized areas which we hope will be discussed in the upcoming US presidential candidates debates as part of US foreign policy on 10-16th, 2012.
The rally comes in support of the ongoing peaceful demonstration in diaspora and different regions of the Sudan including the capital, against the Khartoum regime and its policies of war and violence which could lead to further cessation and fragmentation of the remaining Sudan. These harsh practices include: ethnic cleansing and genocide, arrest, political repression, terrorizing the civilians, forced population removal, use of food as a weapon of war, especially in the marginalized areas of Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile, Abyei, Eastern Sudan and Nile Nubia Valley. In addition to the problems with South Sudan in the unresolved issues between the newly separated countries
The Sudanese Marginalized Forum stresses the fact that regime change in Sudan, using all available means, is the only option that will keep the country united, and the only way towards building a just and democratic new Sudan. Unless change is achieved, the people of the margin will demand self determination to save their populations and to live peacefully and dignified and to rid themselves of the racial policies of the Islamist National Congress Party.
