ترجمة انجليزية للتصريح الصحفي بخصوص الطالب تاج السر
TajelSirGaafer, a young member of the New Forces Democratic Movement (Haq) and the Media Officer for the University of Khartoum Students’ Strike Committee, was arrested by the Security Forces on 30 December 2011 and has been under unlawful detention at an undisclosed location since then. TajelSirwent into a food strike about 12 days ago, protesting his arrest and demanding his release, and since then has been living on water only. For the last 3 days we have been receiving unconfirmed news that TajelSir passed away. His mother got a telephone call at 3.00 a.m. 2 days ago from an untraceable telephone number telling her that her son had passed away. When she hurried to the HQ of the Intelligence and Security Forces to verify the news, she was given no answer and was driven away rudely. A few days ago, the University of Khartoum issued a statement that TajelSir, who is a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Sciences, was not a student at the University. All this lead us to believe that TajelSir’s life is in serious threat and peril. We therefore request all Human Rights organizations and activists worldwide to interfere and campaign for the life, safety and release of TajelSir.
