SPLMN/ PRESS STATMENT
President Bashir sabotage the agreement of cessation of hostilities and back track from Addis Ababa framework agreement.
The SPLMN delegation to Addis Ababa peace talks has been informed officially by the AUHIP that in their meeting yesterday with president Bashir they were informed by him that:
1. The talk between the SPLMN and the NCP does not require a third party.
2. The political issues in the framework agreement are not part of the issues to be discussed in Addis under the AUHIP.
3. That the SPLMN is not a legal registered party and need to be registered again.
4. The NCP would like to discuss a limited agenda with SPLMN in Addis Ababa.
The position of president Bashir confirms the media reports of the back tracking from the framework agreement by the NCP , it is regrettable that let by the very person who is leading the country.
It is to be recall that the delegation of SPLMN over stayed in Addis Ababa waiting for the delegation of GoS to signed an agreement on cessation of hostilities that will open the door for humanitarian assistances for more than 700 thousands of displaced people, yet GoS is reluctant to start the talks furthermore the position taken by president Bashir is blocking the road to reach an agreement on cessation of hostilities.
The SPLMN delegation on cessation of hostilities would like to draw the attention of Sudanese people and the regional and international community that president Bashir and his colleague Ahmed Haron should be held responsible for the continuous policy and practice of ethnic cleansing taking place right now in South Kordufan moreover their denial for the IDPs to be admitted in displaces camps and the continuous undiscriminated Arial bombardment on the civilians targets.
President Bashir and Ahmed Haron are continuing their policies of Darfur in South Kordufan using food as weapon, denying access to humanitarian assistance, using the population as a human shield and targeting the SPLMN membership.
The SPLMN draw the attention of UNSC that president Bashir is involve in ethnic cleansing and genocide taking place right now in South Kordufan.
The SPLMN calls for formation of an independent international committee to investigate the gross human rights violations and atrocities.
The SPLMN reaffirms its commitment to the following:
1. Reaching peaceful settlement through negotiation.
2. Reaffirms its commitment to the framework agreement between SPLMN and GoS /NCP signed on 28th of June 2011.
3. Reaffirms its commitment to continue the negotiations under the auspices of the AUHIP and the assistance of government of Ethiopia and international community.
